Student Orientation Winter 2019

Each year, we offer a orientation for all new international students to the Richmond School District.  This year, our orientation is scheduled for Monday, January 28, 2019.  Please review the schedule below:

To get your personalized orientation schedule, make sure to send your flight information to study@sd38.bc.ca as soon as you’ve arranged travel.  Students and parents may also wish to download and review our Student Handbook 2018-2019 for information on classes, graduation requirements, school contacts, Richmond activities and much, much more.

We have multiple sessions for elementary (K-Grade 7) and secondary (Grade 8 -12) in English and Mandarin.

 

Monday, January 28, 2019 RIE Homestay Program Orientation

This is offered to G8-12 international students in our RIE-arranged homestay program.  Please come with your homestay parents.

  • Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Location: Library, Richmond Secondary School (7171 Minoru Blvd.)
  • Language: English only
Monday, January 28, 2019 Private Homestay and Custodian Orientation

This is offered to G8-12 international students in private accommodation that has been arranged by their parents.  Please bring your responsible adult(s) and custodian.

  • Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Location: Multipurpose Room, Richmond Secondary School (7171 Minoru Blvd.)
  • Language: English only
Tuesday, January 29, 2019 First day of class

Friday, February 15, 2019 Last day to report All new late-arriving students must report to the RIE Office (7811 Granville Ave. Richmond) to complete their ELL assessment and registration.
